Tokyo Girl

Tokyo Girl (2008)
Directed by: Kazuya Konaka

Kazuma Sano

This is really similar with "Time Traveller: The Girl Who Leapt Through Time" and this kind of plot works best the first time. I actually thought that the beginning of the story is quite boring or dragging but in the middle of the story, somehow I know that there might be a twist, a twist I have seen before then bam it happened minutes before the story ended. Aside from the fantasy like love story, I find my self drawn into the climax that again brought me to tears. I know it's crazy but it really breaks my felt so real.( And the twist saves the film!)

Hyuna and Hyunseung smooching

When I saw this at Allkpop, all I can think off is Beast song, shock.(like literally!)

Last movie I saw...

Directed by Ahn Sang-Hoon

Yoo Seung-Ho
Kim Ha-Neul

Wow! This movie made me so uneasy, jumpy and frightened but I love it. The plot is quite unique compared to other "witness to be killed" action films because one of the witness is blind. And Kim Ha Neul's acting never fails me that's why I like her. She portrayed the role so well that it's hard to believe that she's only acting. And Yoo Seung Ho, I never liked him before but it all changed because he acts really good for his age. Now, It's justified why this film is one of South Korea's blockbuster for 2011 and the reason for Kim Ha Neul's bagging of best actress awards.

Scent Of A Woman

Scent Of A Woman (2011)
Rating: 9/10

This drama somehow gave me some thoughts to ponder, realizations on one's life that inspire me so much. In terms of acting, the cast are really good. I never liked Kim Sun Ah's look in any of her drama but I guess this is an exception. She is so sophisticated and very alluring with her tango scenes. She is already known for going an extra mile to be in her character, just like in Kim Sam Soon, she purposely gained weight and for this drama she lost a lot(a lot!) of weight to be a cancer patient.(impressive dedication)

And we have a very handsome male lead, Lee Dong Wook, whom I really like since My Girl but I find him really off in this series or maybe I'm just bothered big time with his lips.(it became so pouty, isn't it?) And I don't really like it. Acting wise? His better in My Girl..I guess? Anyway this is a really good drama plus the songs are all great and matches the scenes well. I cried so hard watching this series to the point that my eyes hurt so much whenever I cry.

Trouble Maker

I always love every single of Hyuna and 4minute, and with her upcoming collaboration with Beast Hyunseung, I'm definitely burning w/ anticipation. OMG! Look at the teaser, the chemistry is overflowing argh! sexiness ftw!

Dear Friend

Last movie I saw...

Dear Friend(2007)
Directed by: Kazuyuki Morosawa

Keiko Kitagawa

It took me a week to finish this, why? It offers heavy scenes, scenarios that hard for me to watch. I don't really like the ending and it's absolutely not the most dramatic role of Keiko. Her acting and role in Piecing Me Back Togetheris way way pitiful and acting wise? It's a lot better, superb characterization.

Nonetheless this movie centers on a different kind of relationship, friendship, which I think is rare compared to hundreds of Japanese romance films.

My Girls

"Wonder Girls winning inkigayo mutizen"
"Wonder Girls' "Be My Baby" Is the 2nd Most Popular Song of the Year on Melon"

What a Wonderful world, isn't it? Hooray for all Wonderfuls!

I just arrived home and I feel so tired and exhausted and when I read the articles, I can't stop my tears. I felt that I'm part of their success, they've achieved so much and they will always be my inspiration.

I love Wondergirls

Battle Royale II: Requiem

Last movie I saw...

Battle Royale II: Requiem(2003)
Directed by: Kenta Fukasaku & Kinji Fukasaku

Tatsuya Fujiwara
Ai Maeda
Shugo Oshinari

Full of crap. Sequels always has a negative connotation and Battle Royale II is not an exception. They lost the sense of the story in the entire film. Not worth watching but if you have nothing to do for two hours, go waste it.

Battle Royale

Last movie I saw...

Battle Royale(2000)
Directed by Kinji Fukasaku

Tatsuya Fujiwara
Aki Maeda

Not as gruesome as I'm expecting it to be. But that BR act is really sick, glad it's only a movie.

Life Goes On

Time Traveller: The Girl Who Leapt Through Time

Last movie I saw...

Time Traveller: The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (2010)
Directed by: Masaaki Taniguchi

This is my favorite Japanese movie so far, It's absolutely a masterpiece(bias?of course not!)

I don't want to spoil the spell of this film, so as much as I would like to detail every scene, I think it will ruin other people's experience on watching it.

It would be best if you don't read any reviews for this film, I think it will leave a strong impact if you don't know what the story is about and how it will end. I assure you all that this film deserves an excellence award. The writer displayed a wide ranged of his imagination, directing is pretty smooth plus the actors are really into their characters emotion. After few minutes of seeing the movie, I still can't move on..

Hot Summer Days

Last movie I saw...

Hot Summer Days (2010)
Directed by: Tony Chan, Wing Shya

Nicholas Tse
Jacky Cheung
Rene Liu
Vivian Hsu
Barbie Hsu
Yihong Duan
Xinbo Fu
Angela Baby
Daniel Wu
Boran Jing

I notice that Hong Kong producers likes to release this kind of film a lot, a romantic comedy consisting of multiple stories. In terms of quality, I don't find it impressive but the setting of the story is unique. The intention of the film is pretty usual and bit confusing because of the different characters but overall, it really touches my heart.(Especially the story of angela baby!)

5 Centimeters Per Second

Last movie I saw...

5 Centimeters Per Second (2007)
Directed by: Makoto Shinkai

Kenji Mizuhashi - Takaki Toono
Yoshimi Kondou - Akari Shinohara
Satomi Hanamura - Kanae Sumita

This has a deep undertone compared to the usual anime. It's my first time to watch a Japanese anime movie and is surely disturbing. I got a hint from a friend who recommended this film that it doesn't have a good ending though I never thought that it would be close to reality. The story is no fairy tale but it can be the story of any normal person. And the plot might be poignant but that's the charm of it. But I still can't help to root for Takaki Toono and Akari Shinohara. (And they called it puppy love? haha)

Love You You

Last movie I saw...

Love You You(2011)
Directed by: Jingle Ma

Eddie Peng
Angela Baby

A reminder, watched it till the end. The beginning of the movie can be "boring" but the latter part would leave a strong impact. I like Eddie Peng since Scent of Love. It's one of those dramas that I record the soundtrack just to be reminded of the scene. With Angela Baby, I've heard her name before but I'm under the impression that it is a name of an AV actress. LOL! I've just come to know that she is a model and pretty popular in Hong Kong.

I can't say any praises with this film instead of having eye candy leads and great ending.

Maguindanao Massacre

We're watching a documentary about the massive massacre in 2009 that involves the Ampatuan, a powerful well known clan in Maguindanao, and Mangudadatu whose wife and sisters have been slayed brutally along with the journalists who only seeks a news worthy piece.

Hearing the narrations and different perspectives of the representatives from our society with the inhumane event that killed 58 people, I can't help too feel pain for the victims and their loved ones.

I'm not expecting that Justice will prevail in this case but I'm hoping for the work of nature we called Karma.

I'm praying for the safety and peace of mind of the victims family.

Breaking Dawn Part 1

Last movie I saw...

Breaking Dawn Part 1(2011)
Directed by: Bill Condon

Robert Pattinson
Taylor Lautner
Kristen Stewart

I think that the film version of the most awaited part of the series is designed for the readers and followers of the book. There are those parts that can be vague for non readers of the Twilight series or can be totally misunderstood but nonetheless, I love it!I'm frantically surprise that they visualize the adult Renesmee. I can't wait next year for part 2 and it would surely be a blast.

I also can't help to adore the night scenes. Most especially the wide shot of their car from their wedding going to their honeymoon with the big moonlight above(I was awestruck!) Another favorite is the sea love scene(the moonlight reflecting on the water is so lovely, definitely breath taking!)

It's so perfect, the shots and lightnings, effects..everything with their night scenes equates to an efficient cinematographer and editor. Good job!
