Norweigan Wood

Last book I've read...

Norweigan Wood(1987)
Author: Haruki Murakami
Rating: 5/5

I've known Murakami since college for writing sensual novels..or so I thought. I just have known recently that my view for murakami doesn't have any reference at all. He is known not because of being a sensual novelist but because of his novels that touches the political aspect in Japan. And for that reason I'm not a fan. Not until I've read Noruwei no Mori, Norweigan Wood in english.

The cover of the book intrigued me the most plus the summary gives me a feel of a teenage dream, of coming of age. Reading the novel gives me a feel and look in Japan. I can't explain it but maybe because I've watched a lot of japanese films that is why while reading the book it felt the same. Japanese films gives a feeling of .... ???... I don't know how to put it into words but.. oh crap! Their films gives a sense of charater isolation? Does it make any sense? If you'll notice the characters are only few and they don't have a lot of extras unlike hollywood films. It gives an eerie atmosphere.(gets?whatever!) I enjoyed reading the book. It's like I saw Toru or known as Watanabe from his younger days to golden days. The book touches my heart, gives confusion and tons of heartache. Alot of human natures realization. This gives me a clear description or idea on how men lives, thinks and loves. I can still remember when I'm reading the last chapter and can't help myself from crying..gosh!It's a total mess. Minutes before my shift and my eyes are totally red and looks like it's ready to pop out. I know a lot of people from work notice that incident but they don't know that it's because of the book. haha.

Anyway the book change me. It gives me a different look on life, love and death. After a while you'll realize that Norweigan Wood is just a love story.

Grad Reunion..

..is a blast!

Catch Me, I'm In Love

Last movie I saw...
Catch Me, I'm in Love(2011)
Directed by: Mae Cruz

Cast:
Gerald Anderson
Sarah Geronimo

I've watched this film in theater alone again.(Singlehood rocks!) Anyway I'm expecting something better but it doesn't mean that I did not enjoy it. Probably one of the burdens for having box office movies under your belt is to always do better than your before. I'm liking the chemistry though it's not strong enough to make me twitterpated, but nonetheless I enjoyed it

Beat..

Thugs, thugs..dung, dung..
Beat..trouble
Hearbeat...trouble
Pulse rate...double trouble
Heart race...heartache

I need God's Guidance. This can't be. It's a no.no.no
Don't let anyone catch me. Coz I will not fall. Not ready to fall.

"It's a heartache
Nothing but a heartache.
Love him till your arms break
Then he lets you down."

Recovery

I just woke up. And I felt that I was reborn, just kidding, I honestly feel completely refreshed and more energized. I can think straight now. I'm emotionally stable as well. I told my dad how I'm feeling this morning when I arrived from work. And as expected he preached like a priest for an hour before going back to work. I know I have this hateful side of me. I am anti social at times however it does not mean that I hate the people around me. I just prefer having more time with myself. But too much will kill you and so it does. I want to live in a peaceful world as long as I can so I stay on the sideline and keep on thinking on how will people feel if I do this and that. But for years of doing the same routine, you'll get tired of it. Always saying yes to other people but never to yourself. Probably this is a trivial matter for others but it's BIG for me. But I understand If they don't get it because that's human nature anyway.

Man can only understand what he wants to understand. We filter things we want to hear and let the rest past on the other ear. We can't relate to other people not unless we go thru the same experience. I know that and it's understandable. However it's not because I understand doesn't mean to say that I don't hate it. I HATE IT. I HATE IT TO THE CORE. Selfishness is a quality that is innate in us. An attitude that I posses or they posses?

But as I kept on thinking and analyzing. Weighing their reason and mine. It seems that my reasoning doesn't make sense at all. I'm just being stubborn to admit that on this scenario I might be the one at fault. And now regret is all I have. For showing a despicable side of me and giving burden and hate to people who only wants to spend time with me. And snap..I'm on the sideline all over again.

Force

I hate the world for having forceful people!

Just leave me alone!

Time To Work

I somehow missed the job. Talking to different people with different funny scenarios or reasons for hypertension lol! Here I come Araneta whoooooooooooooooooooo

Black Swan

Last movie I saw...

Black Swan(2010)
Directed by: Darren Aronofsky

Cast:
Vincent Cassel
Natalie Portman
Mila Kunis

I still can't breathe after watching this film. Probably because it took me awhile to watch any thriller or horror films. I honestly get frightened easily especially if the scene is really gross. In this film there are a lot of scenes that creeps me out..totally! I'm hearing alot about the Black Swan but I'm thinking that maybe it is overrated with all the hype about this film, I wonder if it is really that good. Luckily I was able to watch it online with me forcing myself to give it a try. I don't want to waste my three hours before going off to work doing senseless stuff so I prefer to either watch a movie or drama. Finally I decided to give this film a try mainly because I have this fascination for ballet. Before I dreamed of being a ballerina so the "Swan Lake" story is not new to me. Ever since I've watched the Korean Horror film "Wishing Stairs" I did my research about the Ballet play "Swan Lake". It is about a prince who wants freedom and that thirst for freedom is represented by the swan lake. When I watched the film I discovered that the "Swan Lake" that I know is different to what they have and I've just read that they just used the ballet piece for background. I must say that the concept of the story is good, great idea.

As I've watched the film I got attached with every scene. The film has leveling prowess, it will bring you to different stages, great intensities. The film started with the story of searching for the right ballerina to cast as the swan queen. You can smell jealousy, betrayal and sexuality the envelopes each characters. I even anticipates for a lesbian act. But the real story lies with the main character, with Nina. She portrays white swan not only in stage on the film but the character itself is the white swan. I know that everyone of us has it's different sides there is the good and the bad in each of us. The white for good ones and the black for the darker us. In the film Nina has the black side all along but she wouldn't let it conquer her being but in contrary it is actually ruling her, leading her. It is that part of her that she needs to overcome. That is the real point of having "Black Swan" as the title and that is my interpretation. The title is not referring to the ballet character but it is for the self battle of Nina. The main lead is mentally sick, a psychological disorder that snaps from time to time. She gets pressured and she scratch herself, hurt her self and she gets motivated and will feel better. And how's that? errr sickhead.

I am all praise with this film and no wonder why it had won so many awards. The actors gives justice with their characters. Natalie Portman blew me away. If I want to be a good theater actress I should have the guts to take such role. And playing Nina, I can tell that it is hard as hell and "that" is FANTASTIC. The writer really did a great job. The story is a masterpiece. The shots might be unique. Are they trying to contribute something new to the film industry? Well it's not bad and for me I like being adventurous with the cinematography. Compared to the boring traditional angles, I favored those scenes with a twist..with different touch but of course it will still depend on the materials and the outcome. Though unlike any other famous movie productions like warner brothers, I notice that they use a different film. It's quite disturbing for me in the beginning because I felt like I'm watching an Indie film but after a while your eyes will blend on the screen(if you know what I mean haha) What I'm trying to say is you'll get used to it and you might not notice it anyway because you'll be absorbed by the BLACK SWAN.

..and I still can't breathe. whew!

Ming Dao!!

OMG! Oh fucking geee!!!! I love ming dao! That scene..that scene.. I envy that scene!iiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!(screams)

Pieces..

Yeah I have the pieces of my life written in this page. In this website. I was scanning the entries from 2008 to 2010 and I'm surprised to know some events that I almost forgot. It feels like refreshing not only the memory but also the feelings. Love it! I never appreciate blogging more than how I do now.

Sunny Happiness

Last drama I saw...

Sunny Happiness(2011)
Episodes: 25

Cast:
Mike He
Janine Chang

Yey! I'm so happy that I've finished watching the drama before I'll go to work tomorrow. And now I have a lot of time to watch other films or dramas haha.I preferred watching Taiwanese or Japanese dramas at times over Korean dramas because they are shorter and a lot lighter. Honestly I'm not that updated anymore on any Taiwanese shows so I did my homework and google the popular dramas and here I am very satisfied.

I love how the story goes though it is quite dragging at the last few episodes but still fun to watch. I'm craving for Mike He and the actor who acted as his brother the whole time I'm watching the drama. arrghh!! I wanna eat them alive puhahahaha. I've known some of mike's drama ever since he started with Rainie Yang. And I see him as someone who always play it rough. Always the gangster type of role and this is the first time that I saw him as a father in a drama. And he is a really cute pop and quite convincing. But the biggest surprise for me is the female lead. She is the type of beauty that grows in you. She is really beautiful and I love her bangs, her smile and her acting is superb. I especially like her crying. Very realistic! Not to mention that she seems to have a good background. A woman that was born in Germany and can speak their language according to dramawiki(a trivia) and has a degree in law. Amazing right? Moving forward their chemistry is not that bad. I anticipated for their bed scene because I know how mike acts on those kinds of scenario. Expect an action. lol!

As for the story it is well delivered. Well written. The characters are kinda unique. I wanna praise the writer for using the cinderella theme in a different manner. The status of being a cleaner and a CEO did not also get in the way of their love story so additional points. Because the status and against the world concept is so over used, please! That is why it is refreshing to have a different set of characters. The story revolves on having a first family, siblings rivalry, love contract and accidental pregnancy. It only revolves on those factors and it will surely give you a good laugh and your share of tears but in the end it is still a SUNNY HAPPINESS.

Psychological Disturbance

Okay...still can't get over it. Currently listening to The Virgin Suicides Soundtrack.
And I've found out that national bookstore and fully booked offers the novel. I'm so gonna buy it though the sad part is it's quite expensive. Around 500 to 700 bucks..tsk!

The Virgin Suicides

Last movie I saw...

The Virgin Suicides(1999)
Directed by: Sofia Coppola

Cast:
Josh Hartnett
Kirsten Dunst

Alright. I am still in an "aftershock phase" from watching this film. This is a very disturbing film. There are questions and lots of them on my mind right now. Why, and another why. Ever since I have this fascination on people who commits suicide. Not that fascination that you're thinking of or should I call it curiosity instead. Yeah..that's the right term. It's rather a curiosity. All of us might share the same questions to those people who can't answer any of our inquiries because they are dead..suicide case. In this film I experienced it again. While watching the movie I'm searching for something, a point of view from the girls but I think that's the way the storyline goes. It should be a mystery, something that would linger on our souls even the film reached it's last roll. I love it. I'm satisfied with it. No matter how it ends it delivers a very very deep emotional passage. My hypothesis is that strict irrational parents might contribute to a teenage drama. In the Lisbon girls case they were not allowed to mingle with opposite sex, pulled out from the society or that's how they thought it is.

I absolutely fell in love with this film the moment I have watched the trailer. The visuals are too strong to ignore. The musical scoring digs on your soul. And God Kirsten Dunst is so pretty, I especially love her tiny voice in here. I never like her not until I saw her playing Lux Lisbon. Additional eye candy is the heartthrob Josh Hartnett, he is so young in here and yet he is already gorgeous and sexy haha. I thought that the story would be different based from the trailer. I have thought that the boys will commit some sort of sexual violence that ends the life of those pretty sisters but I'm wrong.

I think every teenager went through on that crucial stage. On the becoming of age where peers matters and so as our own emotions. We are so self centered when we are younger. We think that we know it all and we act not our age. We think that everything revolves for us that we go blind on seeing the bigger picture. On how life really works. But with parents and guardians, teenager could straighten their thoughts and get over the rough road. And this film holds a very good lesson. This should be watched by youngsters but I recommend this to be included as a school activity rather than personal viewing. This might be too complex to understand by young minds so an adult opinion after watching it is a must. It would be a lot of help to explain the details in a deeper sense. And This film uses a lot of explicit materials for ages below 18 that is why it is better to watch it with a parental consent but nonetheless this is really good.

I really like the cinematography, the angles that adds to the mysterious touch plus the soundtrack that will stir your emotions. Hope to read the novel. I'm still intrigued after writing my thoughts and yet there are a lot of things that I want to write but I don't know how. All I can say is I'm still bothered and disturbed.

1900's Pop, My Origin

Watching all the boybands, girlgroups and solo's in 1900's I suddenly miss the era. The time where in I don't have any idea that Kpop is existing, when there's no Lady Gaga and only Britney Spears matters.

I miss the old times.Especially BB, Westlife and Spice Girls

I Want You Back

I'm now in a mood to listen old school songs, from carpenters, beatles to boybands in 1900's that includes Nsync and Backstreet Boys. But after watching the music video of Nysnc I really can't stop laughing and giggle because they look so fuuny. Their dance is not sexy not even close to Justin's sexy back hahaha. I wanna shout "stay" while watching their "dance moves". They are like kids who can't stop dancing to the tune of a good music. hahahha. Their movement is really something.... it's very funny but nevertheless I really like the song a lot.

Navigation Tip

Just a tip. When reading my entries you can avoid the disturbance of music by maintaining a single page. Avoid opening the other entry in a new tab or if you do, you can always pause the music. I'm sorry but I kinda like the background noise :)

Blog Update

Whew! So much for customizing. I should absolutely enroll myself in a BIT course if I want to make my blogger life easier lol! It took me 2 hours and max to change how my blog look like and It's not even a minor change but just a touch here and there and it took me what..2 hours! lol

But I like the new look, and I'm proud of it. This page is mine, my idea, my stress reliever, MINE.

Norweigan Wood

After I have read the book I'll make it sure to find this movie no matter how hard it is :)

I still can't believe that it has already a movie adaption and I'm glad it's not an English film. I really hate movie adaptions of U.S of any kind of asian material, may it be a movie or novel. They simply can't give the same satisfaction, not even close to a praise "ok".

Twitter Boos?

I'm not really a fan of twitter but not an anti neither. Nevertheless I have an account and I see it as a way to show off..ooops.. I mean share what I'm doing haha

Anyway I haven't updated my profile in a while so I spent time to change this and that however one thing that really pisses me off on Twitter is that some functions are not working properly or not even working at all. From time to time I'm having difficulties on switching to the new twitter. C'mon! When I'm log in I need to manually switch to the new one. At first I don't mind it but everytime? It sucks! And now I can't even copy the code for twitter widget and I can't even change my profile picture!!!! whoooooow!!! What a mess!

The Line

.."Because I Love Him"
To whom will I say it?
And who is "him"? ayiiii!!!

Japan 8.9 Earthquake Disaster

This is insane, scary and dangerous.
Mother nature is now after our sins.

We might find ways to preserve the nature but there's no way we can escape it's revenge. Natural calamity is our number one disaster. I'm thankful that the 8.9 magnitude did not take place in my country, Philippines, but instead in Japan. However I'm not rejoicing that a lot people was hurt and still hurt for the incident. All I can do is to pray for the souls and the safety of my fellow brothers and sisters in Japan. Don't give up on living and let's protect ourselves better.

I'm dying to hear it...unfortunately not my type but keeps on playing on sherlock(name of my laptop). ~~weird..

Quality Talk With Tc

This is the first time that I had a conversation with Tc Joan that is longer than 30 minutes and I was able to share my part, ideas and thoughts. I now that people who knows me or close to me might find it hard to believe that I have a different image at work. When I'm with my friends I'm very clumsy, dirty and no finesse at all. I laugh as loud as I can, very noisy and extremely talkative which is the opposite of who I am at work. People at work might perceive me as someone that is goody goody which I'm totally not. Well no ones a "goody goody", not everytime right? They might think that I'm an introvert which is not true as well. I'm not a shy person but I just don't feel like talking to someone I hardly knew. I know that communication builds relationship but I really can't start any topic and I'll just sit there with thoughts in my head and an impression of being snob or what not. But definitely I'm enjoying the company of my new team, Schilling. After the incident of being transferred from one account to another and worst being apart from your team that you always see at night, at work and whom you converse with anything for almost four months, surely gives me a headache. I'm the type of person that you will not really like or feel being close with the first time. Probably it is because the other person can also feel my withdrawal. And who will waste time talking to someone who only nods and doesn't show any interest? no one right? right.

And the bottom line is? The bottom line is I'm starting to get comfortable with the account, colleagues, teammates and with Tc. And I'm looking forward to the day wherein I can fully share the real me.

Love And Other Drugs

Last movie I saw...

Love And Other Drugs(2010)
Directed by: Edward Zwick

Cast:
Jake Gyllenhaal
Anne Hathaway

Finally I've watched this film. I feat the trailer of the movie way back in august last year and quite funny is that when it was released I lost the interest to watch it. Maybe I'm just stressed out and the last thing I want to do is to be drained watching a sad mellow ending story. Until one of my close friend/officemate told me to watch the film and I can still remember my reaction, I ask him right away if anne hathaway died and he said no. Boom! Great encouragement to watch it plus I've been hearing positive feedbacks from my highschool buds. And I've just noticed that most of the films that I've watched is because of other people.lol! Great influence buddies! Moving on with the film I've decided to watch it today, honestly eons ago but I'm always slacking off on viewing it.Sorry. And now this movie makes me feel better.

I know that people always desire the story of a beautiful delicious gorgeous sick girl that meets the handsome equally delicious gorgeous badboy and of course a happy ending. But lately that kind of genre has been twisted by Asian movies and dramas that ends the story with death or separation.(Ouch!) And apparently became a hit, I myself too is a slave and sucker for sad endings. So now people is looking for not so heavy drama with the same characters and this is a perfect fit for the search.

I just love how the story goes, love the acting, love the body exposures and the characterization. The phasing is as good as the music scoring. Everything falls into places. It will make you laugh, irritated, fear, sad, cry, fall in love and at the end smile. We deserve such treat.

Excerpt:
"you meet thousands of people and none of them really touch you and then one person and your life is changed forever"

Running..

..nose. Again!

Should really stay away from cold drinks.

Covers

..are on my phone's most played tracks

On Going Crazy Cover:
The remake of the lyrics and especially the rap part sounds really good. I especially like the plot of the song. Good job. I'm quite surprise as well too see this cover because the song was released just days ago so this is really fast. I'm also hoping for english covers with good rapping.

On Teenage Dream Cover:
This is climbing it's way up on my most played list. Not to mention that the band who covers the song is Boyce Avenue who is known for good covers(better than the original) and is now establishing it's name in Canada and worldwide. Well of course still nothing beats "Bad Girl, Good Girl" of Miss A and "Nobody Rainstone Remix" by Wonder Girls as my top played songs but this is my current favorite aside from the original version by Katy Perry. The cover captivates me, bringing me back to my teenage fantasy..my TEENAGE DREAM.

Going Crazy

I'm currently listening to...

Going Crazy(2011)
Artist: Song Ji Eun

The music video, song, melody, rap...spells BREATHTAKING!

First I'm glad that Secret's Ji Eun came out with her single because out of the group she is the one who caught my attention. I don't even know why a lot of male idols are stating that they like Zinger out of the four because definitely it is Ji Eun who stands out. The concept of her single reminds me of 2ne1's "It Hurts" especially with the dyed blue hair that you can compare to Park Bom, not that it's an issue just an observation.

Moving forward the song not only displays good lyrics and melody but the music video also looks promising. I really think that music videos plays a big part on selling songs. Looking back at WG "2 Different Tears" if their MV for that song is something that has a story or more interesting then there's a big chance that it continues the legacy of their hit songs but unfortunately not. And that's the good thing about Going Crazy's MV because the female lead has a very good visuals that we don't mind looking at her for 4 minutes and 21 seconds, she's good to look at what can we do, right? Plus the male rapper, I don't know who he is but I've been hearing a lot of news about him lately but I still can't remember his name. However his rap strongly resembles TOP from Bigbang. I love how they shoot his part in the music video, he look liked a pyscho..a handsome one. His rap is one of the factors why the song turned out this good and on stage he is not as bad as what he offers on the music video. I really like how he delivers his last rap on their live perf below. His deadly gorgeous on that scene and for a minute I've dreamed of having him as my stalker.puhahhaha
Hopefully this song will also bagged awards.
