My stand on divorce from spot.ph poll:Yes. Centuries-old teachings have no place in a modern society.

C'mon hypocrite people. It's 2011, so let us set our mind for the present year and not any 16th centuries thinking.

Yes. Centuries-old teachings have no place in a modern society.

Yes. If the rest of the world has legalized divorce already, that should say something about its necessity.
(27.97%, 33 votes)
No. Divorce compromises the sanctity of marriage and goes against Catholic teachings.
(19.49%, 23 votes)
Who cares? At the rate we’re going with the RH Bill, it’s probably going to take decades before divorce could be legalized here.
(11.86%, 14 votes)
No. Legalizing divorce and passing the RH Bill could potentially destroy the strong family values Pinoy clans are known for.

This movie is quite disappointing. I'm really rooting for the film ever since I saw the trailer. The storyline is about a modern Beauty and the Beast and I like it. However after watching the film I could not help but to ask, is that it? It's a good movie in terms of all the elements and I'm even into their soundtrack but I feel like it's too short for a good plot. The scenes that I saw on the trailer are everything that this film has to offer. Every scene that is a highlight are those that they've used for the preview.

Probably one of the reason why I feel that this is too short is because there are some scenarios that can be scrap of the script and instead replace of more interesting twist. Nevertheless the whole concept is a hit for me and I think I'm a fan of Vanessa Hudgens..though I'm not really sure about that-->let's figure it out soon :)

Sien Nui Yau Wan / A Chinese Ghost Story

Last movie I saw...

Sien Nui Yau Wan / A Chinese Ghost Story(1987)
Directed by: Ching Siu-tung

Leslie Cheung
Joey Wong

I started looking for this film last night after I remembered Barbie Xu's drama that has the same title. I've watched the film like 2 years before but I was not able to finish it. I'm glad to discover that the same source still has this movie online.

This is widely known to be a great hit way back in 1987 that they even produced part two and three that makes it a trilogy. And now year 2011 there is a new version of this movie titled " A Chinese Fairytale" with Liu Yifei and Louis Koo as main leads. The direct translation of the title according to wiki is "The Ethereal Spirit of a Beauty" but for me it will always be eternal love. I really love Barbie's drama version and I'm more comfortable with their concept compared to the original. But nonetheless the original version did not fail to impress me.

I've read a lot of reviews and comments saying how they love the original cast compared to 2011 remake but personally I would rather choose Liu Yifei than Joey Wong. Their beauty is quite the same but for me Liu Yifei can pull off such roles way better than Joey. But I can't change the past, could I? I still love the original pair though..probably stigma of remakes.

I've also observed that the versions of this film used the same soundtrack and that is epic. And when I say versions that is the original and the drama version. Well, wait till I've finished watching part 2 and 3.

Oh how I would want to see the leads on new movies and dramas unfortunately that will not happen with the popular Hongkong music icon, Leslie Cheung, because he already died in 2003.(May you rest in peace)

Overall this film shows a great influence in Hongkong Film Industry. This can be considered as one of the old films with great visuals that are very much graphic.

Mainland Period Dramas

Feeling weird because suddenly I'm feeling this urge to watch and collect copies of these Chinese dramas that I've watched eons ago. This would be my agenda next week to find DVD copies and to pleasurably watch it all over again. These are proven to be Southeast Asia's undying series.

Aired at IBC 13 in year 2002
Amazing Twins is the first Asian drama that started the trend in Philippines television.

Aired at ABS CBN in year 2003
A Chinese Ghost Story or also known as Eternity.

The Back-up Plan

The Back-up Plan(2010)
Directed by: Alan Poul

Alex O'Loughlin
Jennifer Lopez

J-lo's character is almost close to what I have planned to be before. But of course I have a different plan now with my triplets in the future. haha

This is another feel good movie. There is slight drama on the side but not much. It is more of facing parenthood for guys and having trust to your partners. I felt bored at the beginning just because I'm dying to watch another film but even so this offers a bunch of laughters. It touches that part of me who dreams to have a family to have it right at this moment. I love love babies and it would be even better to have twins like in the film or better yet a triplets.

I have thought of a different story while reading the poster's tagline but still it is fun to watch. Yeah, fun to watch..nothing more, nothing less.

Jet Coaster Love

I am liking you, no matter whether I am asleep or awake
I’m in love
Ho! sixth sence I know I feel

Confess to me, there’s still time left
(My heart is pounding)
If you don’t say it properly, we can’t start; please tell me!

(NO!) My feelings are changing (HURRY UP) Prepare yourself!
Your heart’s siren
Is blaring, a jet coaster; hug me!

I’m thinking about only you
Catch me! Fall in Fall in Fall in Love

What will happen to this dangerous thrill?
I’m in suspense; which is more miserable?

Confess! Bring out your courage;
bring out the best of it! makin’ makin’ makin’ love

When you utter a “I like you” from your lips
my heart will flutter and our love will begin KISS KISS

I like the things about you
You’re my love
Ho! sixth sence I know I feel

At first, anyone would be scared
(How exciting)
If we hold hands, we are actually deciding our destiny!

(NO!) You’re running out of time (SPEED UP) Reach out your hand
If you feel my heart’s signal,
hurry and hug me!

Yes, every one of us will have loads and loads of obstacles
to surmount Fall in Fall in Fall in Love

Close your eyes and as for the future we cannot see,
we will surely chase it, harder, forever!

Move on! This delicately wonderful distance is
just by your side! makin’ makin’ makin’ love

Before my tears roll down my cheeks,
Open up your heart!

I like you the most in this world, YEAH!
More, more
Hug me more!

I’m thinking about only you
Catch me! Fall in Fall in Fall in Love

What will happen to this dangerous thrill?
I’m in suspense; which is more miserable?

Confess! Bring out your courage;
bring out the best of it! makin’ makin’ makin’ love

When you utter a “I like you” from your lips
my heart will flutter and our love will begin KISS KISS

In The Name Of Love

Last movie I saw...

In The Name of Love(2011)
Directed by:Olivia M. Lamasan

Aga Muhlach
Jake Cuenca
Angel Locsin

I've watched the film last Friday and It's totally amazing. At first I'm not interested on watching the film but my aunt wants to see it so much and I have no choice but to go with her. I love everything about this movie, from the concept, storyline, acting, soundtrack and editing. This is a quality film that you can really enjoy. I can't help but to compare how the visuals of Star Cinema and Viva Films registered on screen. Tumbok will give you a high-end indie film feel and ITNOL gives a traditioal quality that were used to see since we're little, not digitalized or whatsoever but just sharp and different.

Angel Locsin proves to be a face that can launch a thousand ships, her close up shots are breathtaking but I'm not liking any full shot or medium shot. Her body is too big for my taste but nevertheless she looks gorgeous on every scene. And leading man Aga Muclach,a heartthrob way back 90's shows that he is still a heartthrob though it did not work on me. I don't see him like before and no matter how I tried to like him "physically" , I still find him not fit and aging. But what's good with these actors are they were able to bring drama and feel it and make us audience absorb their sorrow and love. The acting of both lead plus Jake Cuenca deserves a round plus square of applause.

I actually have two unforgettable scene on this movie. One is when "we" think we saw angel's chest on the turning point scene(must watch scene). Second is when "Pusong Ligaw" by Jericho Rosales played for the first time and that scene is so-ooh heartbreaking(an understatement). Overall this is way better compared to any Angel and Aga's film that I've watched so far and I can't help myself but to highly praised both of them for their professionalism on doing such scenes. Kudos!

RH Bill

Anti RH Bill Campaign----->nonsense!

I respect our religion and the views of our church but they should take into consideration the welfare of our countrymen. Our population terribly increases every quarter of the year and this is not helping us to keep up with the economic growth of other countries. Even with the current state of our nation you can see how much we are suffering with the uneven distribution of funds on different sectors of the government excluding the secret pocketing of the departments budget. A lot of Filipinos are greatly affected of poverty and corruption and hopefully the RH Bill can help us improve what we have right now.

If they'll pass the bill we might see an improvement on family planning as well as the use of contraceptives. This should help us minimize unwanted pregnancy and suffering of children in dirty alleys begging for food because their parents are too busy baby sitting their youngest.

I'm hoping that the Catholic sector can leave this topic alone on our senators hand. Please stop interfering..not your job anyway.(not trying to be mean but they are just too much!)

No Strings Attached

Last movie I saw...

No Strings Attached(2011)
Directed by: Ivan Reitman

Ashton Kutcher
Natalie Portman

I think I'm beginning to be a fan of Natalie Portman. I'm totally into her recent film,Black Swan, and now a romantic comedy with the ever handsome Demi Moore's boy toy, Ashton Kutcher.

I can't stop smiling while watching the film. I'm mega super overly liking it.Well, technically speaking there is nothing new or special with the angle of shots or with the cinematography. Everything is normal from editing down to music scoring but what's making this film interesting is these 3 reasons- casting, acting and an entertaining storyline.

When I first saw the movie poster I thought to myself that this production has the most beautiful actors out of any film this 2011. And why not? The female lead is Natalie and Ashton plays her opposite, isn't enough? yeah!HOT!

The set up on the film really matches the kind of relationship that we have on our generation. Fast pace relationships, couples with personal issues and struggles on their careers. I'm not going to tell more than what I've already written simply because I don't want to drop any spoilers, for you should see this film r-i-g-h-t n-o-w.

I'm hopeful that this can make you realize that happy people make a happier relationship.
