Quitting Is Indeed A Good Thing

"To quit is to willingly severe and give up all the investments you have made. It is to go against stigmas from the society and people around you to stay true to yourself. It is actually a harder task than not quitting. Maintaining the status quo and not quitting seems to be actually the easier path out."

Proven and tested.

My friends said that this should be taken positively, and I tried, but I really loathe this quote. Very much.

Fifty Shades Of Grey

Last book I've read...

Fifty Shades Of Grey (2011)
Author: E. L. James
Rating: 3/5

I'm not really impressed with the author's, E.L James, writing skill though I really like the theme of the novel. The exploration of human sexuality in this book is at its best but unfortunately the story is a bit shallow. The writer should have thought of a far more complicated conflict and a solid characterization of the leads. Nevertheless, I somehow enjoyed it, and I'm looking forward on reading Fifty Shades Darker. I'm crossing my fingers that it'll get better.

Book Description:
When literature student Anastasia Steele goes to interview young entrepreneur Christian Grey, she encounters a man who is beautiful, brilliant, and intimidating. The unworldly, innocent Ana is startled to realize she wants this man and, despite his enigmatic reserve, finds she is desperate to get close to him. Unable to resist Ana’s quiet beauty, wit, and independent spirit, Grey admits he wants her, too—but on his own terms.

Shocked yet thrilled by Grey’s singular erotic tastes, Ana hesitates. For all the trappings of success—his multinational businesses, his vast wealth, his loving family—Grey is a man tormented by demons and consumed by the need to control. When the couple embarks on a daring, passionately physical affair, Ana discovers Christian Grey’s secrets and explores her own dark desires.

Erotic, amusing, and deeply moving, the Fifty Shades Trilogy is a tale that will obsess you, possess you, and stay with you forever.

Killing Me Softly

This is one of my favorite songs when I was a child(weird?not really), and until now its meaning is still a great mystery to me. There are some articles that involved Lori Leiberman and Don McLean but wasn't really acknowledge as a fact. Some said it's about a break up with a musician, and it's a fact without a basis. I'm curious as hell. Hmmm... ♫♫ Strumming my pain with his fingers. Singing my life with his words. Killing me softly with his song. Killing me softly... with his song. Telling my whole life with his words. Killing me softly... with his song♫♫

I'm currently listening to...

Artist: Christina Perri

Released Date: May 10, 2011
"Bluebird" 3:49
"Arms" 4:21
"Bang Bang Bang" 3:05
"Jar of Hearts" 4:06
"Mine" 3:33
"Interlude" 0:51
"Penguin" 4:36
"Miles" 4:04
"The Lonely" 3:52
"Sad Song" 4:29
"Tragedy" 4:40

I love Twilight Saga, and I'm very thankful that the film adaptation helped Christina Perri on reaching a wider audience. I like her first because of "A Thousand Years". I can't help to like the song because the lyrics are very touching but painful at the same time. I guess that's the charm of her music. Her approach is to stir the darker side of our emotion with her soulful voice, and truthful verses that she also presented in abstract in some of her songs. But it's not until "Jar of Hearts", which is also my favorite song from the album, that I realize how good she is with her craft. I like how emotional and moving her songs are, and how she turned despair from an eargasmic addiction.

"2 Become 1" – 4:07
"Mama" – 3:43
"Who Do You Think You Are" – 3:45
"Move Over" – 2:47
"Spice Up Your Life" – 2:55
"Too Much" – 3:55

"Holler" – 3:56
"Headlines (Friendship Never Ends)" – 3:56 (U.S. release only)
"Voodoo" - 3:11
"Goodbye" – 4:35

I only remember groovin to few songs sung by Spice Girls especially to my ever favorite-"Stop", and surprisingly I'm familiar with all of the tracks in this album. But they also have the most disturbing music video I had ever watched as a child..or probably till now. I can't explain it well but Viva Forever's music video gives a very eerie feel, or its just me? I feel odd whenever I happen to see the music video, or hear the song which I won't do intentionally(never!). Regardless, Spice Girls will always be the ultimate Girl Group of my childhood, and now I'm feeling a bit nostalgic listening to their songs. Good ol' times!

Got a problem with me?

Urgh! The agony of having moody people around. Suck it up!

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2

Last movie I saw...

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 (2012)
Directed by: Bill Condon

Robert Pattinson
Kristen Stewart

"We're the same temperature now" -Edward

I like it. It did not meet my expectation though, but that's fine with me as long as it's not much worse as what others think it would be. I was so excited to see the last installment of the infamous vampire-human love story, Twilight, that I decided to watch it alone because I simply can't wait any longer. The idea of seeing Breaking Dawn 2 was overwhelming because it does not only signify the finale but it's the movie version of my most coveted book, Breaking Dawn, from Twilight series. It's just disappointing that they did not include the Jacob scene(no spoiler-I got it) that I was dying to see in action.

Well, anyway, the film started really well with a promising opening credits(I was awestruck!-exaggerated but real) but the first few scenes after were a disappointment with the exception of Bella's beauty.(she looks divine!-whateve's haters) I hate the obvious visually enhanced running of Edward and Bella, and especially the fake baby. I mean this adaptation had the biggest budget out of the four installment, and not to mention the last, so why did they not give the best instead of presenting a total crap. Why? Argh! The baby distracted me big time. I hate it.(But I adore Mackenzie Foy as Reneesmee. Effing pretty face!) The production should have also used any visuals with Reneesmee's way of communication instead of a flat "touch in the face" act. But fortunately aside from the lousy effects, I love everything else, and most of the credit goes to the screenwriter. I was totally speechless on what they did to the story, and I think you'll appreciate it more If you had read the book. If you're a fanatic, the ending credits will surely keep you on your seat for a while...long while(tears..-goodbye twilight!)

Friday With Dadi James

Emotional Roller Coaster

Come, and join my roller coaster ride for this week.

This is how I feel last Sunday, when I celebrated my Birthday in Batangas, and "surprise" was the word of the day. I'm not expecting the party, people, and definitely not the marriage proposal. So yes, I'm surprised.

During my birthday, this is how I look like

But deep inside, I'm like this

And earlier

But now, I'm all good and can't hide my excitement with our cruise :)

Don't Sweat the Small Stuff ... and it's all small stuff: Simple Ways to Keep the Little Things from Taking Over Your Life

Last book I've read...

Don't Sweat the Small Stuff ... and it's all small stuff: Simple Ways to Keep the Little Things from Taking Over Your Life (1997)
Author: Richard Carlson
Rating: 5/5

I finished reading this book in one sitting, and it is indeed very inspiring and enlightening.

Book Description:
Don't Sweat the Small Stuff...and It's All Small Stuff is a book that shows you how to keep from letting the little things in life drive you crazy. In thoughtful and insightful language, author Richard Carlson reveals ways to calm down in the midst of your incredibly hurried, stress-filled life. You can learn to put things in perspective by making the small daily changes he suggests, including advice such as “Think of your problems as potential teachers”; “Remember that when you die, your ‘In’ box won’t be empty; and “Do one thing at a time.” You should also try to live in the present moment, let others have the glory at times, and lower your tolerance to stress. You can write down your most stubborn positions and see if you can soften them, learn to trust your intuitions, and live each day as if it might be your last. With gentle, supportive suggestions, Dr. Carlson reveals ways to make your actions more peaceful and caring, with the added benefit of making your life more calm and stress-free.

R.I.P Cyrish Magalang

49 stab wounds?F***! I'm against death penalty but I might agree for this case. She's just 20 years old with an impressive educational background, and good future awaiting ahead of her, but this happened and screwed everything. I just saw her father's interview this morning in Kape at Balita, and its so painful to watch. It's hard not to tear up while her father was obviously on the verge of tears.

I'm praying that Justice will be served for Cyrish Magalang and her family.

Bakit Hindi Ka Crush ng Crush Mo?: At Iba Pang Technique Kung Paano Makaka-Move On sa Wasak na Puso(2012)
Author: Ramon Bautista
Rating: 5/5

This book is a collection of Q&A's from Ramon Bautista's formspring account. I admire the positivity on each of his response, and learned a lot of things which are not limited to love and relationship. He did not only answer the questions with sarcasm but there's also a lot of sense to his statements. No doubt, I enjoyed reading it so much that I finished it in an hour.(Next book Sir RB!)

Multiply Evolution

scroll, right click, save picture as, save, scroll, click (repeat)

I've been a user of Multiply since 2008. Those we're the days where I'm at the peak of my social networking. I actually planned to delete my account few years later but I don't know how, and besides its a lot of work to transfer files from an account to another. So what I did was to private my two accounts in multiply and just let the photos, reviews, and posts buried till end of time. And that's my original plan, but the odds are not in my favor. An update from the website was released stating that they'll remove the social networking tools and would focus instead on eCommerce. The website also set a deadline to its users to access their files, and have the opportunity to transfer it before Decemebr 1, 2012. Great move there, just great.

I actually heard of it way back September, and I'm just too lazy to deal with it. But I can't ignore it now. Can I? No. Time is ticking away.

Outsourced (T.V Series)

Last series I've seen...

Outsourced (2010-2011)
No. of seasons: 1

Ben Rappaport
Rizwan Manji
Parvesh Cheena
Sacha Dhawanv
Diedrich Bader
Rebecca Hazlewood
Anisha Nagarajan
Pippa Black

I had so much fun watching this series for three reasons. First, I can easily relate to it because of the call center setting which happens to be my job. Second, I love the combination of two cultures(U.S&India) that was delivered in the most comical way possible, but more of making humor with people's prejudice toward Indians which ironically manages majority of call centers in Philippines. Third, the characters are hella funny. haha. My favorites are Gupta, Madhuri and of course, Rajiv. haha. I can't stop laughing whenever I think of their scenes. It's unfortunate that they did not continue the plan for season 2. But even though I'm still positive that it will be produced soon. See you again Rajiv!
