I haven't sleep yet, and I need to wake up by eight to prepare for my surgery. It's so frustrating because I'm so sleepy now, and I don't have enough time.

Something doesn't sit right with me, and I feel that I've to explain.

Well, it's not my pride, I just don't want to lead you on. I guess you'll know what I'm talking about.

Recently, I received a confession, and whether its serious, or not, I have no idea. I consider him as a close friend at work, but I think things might change. (hopefully not)

I tried not to, but I can't help being distant with him. I don't want my actions to be misunderstood, or what so ever, so I planned to initiate a conversation regarding our matter, but I don't know how to address it.(major fail!)

So I'll just say it here.

Let's continue being just friends.

Killing Them Softly

Last movie I saw...

Killing Them Softly (2012)
Directed by: Andrew Dominik

Brad Pitt
Ray Liotta
Richard Jenkins

"They cry, they plead, they beg, they piss themselves, they cry for their mothers. It gets embarrassing. I like to kill 'em softly. From a distance"- Jackie Cogan

Killing Them Softly? I was thinking it would be literally. Silly me. I remember that I'd read the synopsis of this film, and it says that its about a "kindhearted" assassin having difficulties on killing his targets. Wtf! This is brutality at its best. I'm not actually too sure now, if I really read it, or might be my assumption.

I don't really care who the cast are, I don't care if Jolie's delicious behalf leads the film, because I'm after the story. Well, its a factor that it sounds like one of my favorite songs, Killing me softly that makes it more intriguing. Another factor would be the positive reviews of film critics. It currently has 4 stars(75 percent) of rating with Rotten Tomatoes, a website of film reviews, and 6.4 rating in IMDB, Internet Movie Database. I've also read that it's the first film to feature Kodak 500T 5230 film stock. I don't really get how that works, but all I can say is this film has a picturesque cinematography, which is one of the strengths of the movie aside from the remarkable music scoring.

What I'm deeply impressed about "Killing Them Softly" is the music scoring, and the irony that it brings. I like how the score doesn't really express the reality underlying the appearance on screen, but in a way it does.(weird!) I was left in awe with the unusual combination of fuzzy moving shots, and a mellow moving tune which contributes to a supposed to be action loaded fight scene, but rather gives you more shiver down the spine.

Brilliant exchange of lines towards the end, though the first half of the story was painfully dragging especially the first thirty minutes. But I realized that there's beauty with brief dullness.

Last movie I saw...

Looper (2012)
Directed by: Rian Johnson

Joseph Gordon-Levitt
Bruce Willis
Emily Blunt

"I guess everything comes back around. Like your goddamn ties."-Abe

As expected with Joseph Gordon-Levitt, he took part again in another amazing film, but this time, about time travel. Looper doesn't only feature guns and intoxicants, there's also drama in it, and it made me cry. I guess I would start familiarizing myself with Rian Johnson's work. I have huge respect with directors who write their own material. Awesome job.

The Reunion

Last movie I saw...

The Reunion (2012 film)
Directed by: Frasco Mortiz

Enrique Gil
Xian Lim
Enchong Dee
Kean Cipriano

"Ang buhay kasi mga anak ay isang malaking connect the dots. Nangyayari ang isang bagay dahil may ginawa kang isang bagay."- Aling Nena

I know I planned to watch it in big screen, but I can't remember why I didn't. Now, I finally saw it, and I like it, no, I love it. I like everything from the cast, acting, plot, editing, cinematography, musics scoring and concept. I really like the comic like concept, and the used of Eraserheads songs to represent scenarios in the story. It's absolutely worth the time. I was actually surprised that it turned out to be a good film. haha. I wasn't expecting it, but I'd anticipated the yummy scenes with Kean Cipriano, and Enchong Dee.(OHMG!)

This film brings nostalgia, and I suddenly miss my friends. The script was well written, and I want to hug the writer for this feel good film. The scenes are in good sequence, and very entertaining plus the story makes a lot of sense. The moral values might be cliches, but they're also real.

Anna Karenina

Last movie I saw...

Anna Karenina (I) (2012)
Director: Joe Wright

Jude Law
Aaron Taylor-Johnson
Keira Knightley

"I am not ashamed of who I am or what I've done. Are you ashamed for me?"-Anna Karenina

I was excited to see Anna Karenina, though I didn't really know what was it about. All I know was its based from a literature, and written by Leo Tolstoy. I actually always see the book at stores, but I never bothered reading the blurb. Well, first I thought its boring as the usual assumption with classic novels, and second, its a thick book, very unattractive.(haha) And that's why I was so interested on watching the movie adaptation, because it will save me from reading the book.

I've seen Keira Knightley act as Elizabeth Bennet of another classic novel, Pride and Prejudice, and honestly, I don't really know what to expect from her, but she looks marvelous from the trailer, and her acting looks a lot better. I was also looking forward on comparing this adaptation with Les Misérables, and Great Gatsby. Those were my top three films that I've anticipated the most for 2013.

And because I wasn't able to read the novel, I can't really critic the script, nor the flow of the story. But I'm all praise with the set design, and the treatment of the adaptation. It's so different with other classic novels that were turned to films. The director, or who ever was in charge of the idea of using a stage play setup, did a very impressive output. I like how they transition each change of scenes using stage props. A very brilliant idea, and first among the films that I've seen. I love the cinematography, especially the love making scene of Keira Knightley and Aaron Taylor-Johnson, but I think some scenes would be best understand if you had read the novel.

But overall, I'm satisfied with the production.

Upside Down

Last movie I saw...
Last movie I saw...

Upside Down (I) (2012)
Directed by: Juan Solanas

Cast:Jim Sturgess
Kirsten Dunst

After seeing the trailer, I know that I have to see this film. I was almost in tears while watching the trailer, and I can't imagine what state I'll be in after seeing it.(and that makes it more interesting!) The plot looked very tragic to me back then, and it didn't help that I had assumed that the trailer spoiled the film. But I am wrong. I commend the production for they're able to lead the people(well I'm just referring to myself) on a different path of twists, and turns of the story.
