Last book I've read...

Pandemonium (2012)
Author: Lauren Oliver
Rating: 5/5

“If you want something, if you take it for your own, you'll always be taking it from someone else.” ― Lauren Oliver, Pandemonium

Ahhh! I want to scream how much I love Pandemonium. Second books are always best for me. It feels like a déjà vu, like how Suzanne Collins made me feel with Catching Fire. I'm dying to read the third book because I want a happy ending for Julian and Lena. I'm totally digging Julian's character than Alex. I'm bias, and I know it. The events with this book were all intense, and the thrill was just too much, that I thought I won't be able to continue reading it. haha. Requiem, I can't wait to lay my hand on you.

Book Description:
I’m pushing aside
the memory of my nightmare,
pushing aside thoughts of Alex,
pushing aside thoughts of Hana
and my old school,
like Raven taught me to do.
The old life is dead.
But the old Lena is dead too.
I buried her.
I left her beyond a fence,
behind a wall of smoke and flame.

Lauren Oliver delivers an electrifying follow-up to her acclaimed New York Times bestseller, Delirium. This riveting, brilliant novel crackles with the fire of fierce defiance, forbidden romance, and the sparks of a revolution about to ignite.

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

Last movie I saw...

The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012)
Directed by: Stephen Chbosky

Logan Lerman
Ezra Miller
Emma Watson

"You can't just sit there and put everybody's lives ahead of yours and think it counts as love."- Sam

Just what I needed. I'm actually feeling a bit lonely for some unknown reason, or might have been experiencing SAD, short for Seasonal Affective Disorder. haha. But I feel a lot better now after seeing this film. There's just so much greatness with the story about life, relationships, and individuality that you can't stop, but to feel positive about everything. Anyway, I'd read The Perks of Being a Wallflower last year even before the movie adaptation was publicized, and I was such a loser to put off seeing this film for this long. tsk.

This film adaptation exceeded my initial expectation but not because of the usual "the novel is better than the film" drama because they are two different medium in the first place, and comparing them isn't fair. Well going back, I was a bit disappointed at first with the adaptation simply because I'm not really in favor of Logan Lerman as Charlie. Well, if not because of Emma Watson, and of course Nina Dobrev, I wouldn't look forward on seeing this film. But I was wrong, and I just fell in love with Logan Lerman's portrayal. I'm especially into his voice..oh I love hearing him deliver his lines. haha. The rest of the cast were as good as Lerman, though I agree with other reviews that Ezra Miller's performance is the best among the cast. I'm also satisfied with the film's soundtrack which also plays a big part on the novel which makes me think that we're really infinite.

Filling a resignation from work had crossed my mind yesterday. I'm actually tired of what I'm doing, on justifying what I'm doing and what I'll be doing in the future, say as soon as next week. I want to start my career. I want to know where my path is, if there is really such a thing as calling. I'm envious, jealous, and insecure of others achievement. Why I can't have my own? When will I have my turn, and when will it be. I know we build our own success, but I'm clueless on where to start, and what to start. I have a lot in mind, things I want to do. But there are also tons of factors to consider, scenarios that needs to be weigh. I feel like time is running out, and I don't have any means to stop it.#seasonalaffectivedisorder

― Lauren Oliver, Delirium

Another interesting novel. It's one of those plots that stands out for its uniqueness. I never imagined Love as a disease, never thought that acts of falling in love can be symptoms, and a new world of segregation which is not far from reality but in a different sense, thus only makes it more intriguing and exciting.

Book Description:
They say that the cure for Love will make me happy and safe forever.

And I've always believed them.

Until now.

Now everything has changed.

Now, I'd rather be infected with love for the tiniest sliver of a second than live a hundred years smothered by a lie.

Lena looks forward to receiving the government-mandated cure that prevents the delirium of love and leads to a safe, predictable, and happy life, until ninety-five days before her eighteenth birthday and her treatment, when she falls in love.
