Must Be Love

Last movie I saw...

Must Be Love (2013)
Directed by: Dado Lumibao

Cast:
Kathryn Bernardo
Daniel Padilla

This film was surprisingly good. The writer used witty punch lines that suits teenagers, and humor that appeals to all age. A good quality of script actually. Well done Star Cinema. I'm already a fan of Katherine Bernardo, because I like her beauty, but I never really paid attention to her on screen partner, Daniel Padilla. And funny thing was all thru out the film, I kept on thinking of how would it feel to be Daniel's girlfriend. haha. I'm officially caught of Daniel Padilla's fever.(right!hell yeah!) I like how he acted his character. It's so natural, very effortless.(bias much?!haha)

A must watch feel good movie with bonus eye candy.(wink!)

“It strikes me how strange people are. You can see them every day, you can think you know them and then you found out you hardly know them at all.”

One of the amazing books I've ever read. I didn't really expect it to be this good, and I was awestruck. It has all the lesson about family, friends, love..well basically about living your life. I didn't feel good after reading this book, but it gave me a lot of thoughts to ponder on.

Make Good Art

Last book I've read...

Make Good Art (2012)
Author: Neil Gaiman
Rating: 5/5

“And if you cannot be wise, pretend to be someone who is wise, and then just behave like they would.”
― Neil Gaiman, Make Good Art

Inspiring thoughts, and full of encouragement. It's exactly the book I need.

Book Description:
In May 2012, bestselling author Neil Gaiman stood at a podium at Philadelphia’s University of the Arts to deliver the commencement address. For the next nineteen minutes he shared his thoughts about creativity, bravery, and strength: he encouraged the students before him to break rules and think outside the box. Most of all, he encouraged the fledgling painters, musicians, writers, and dreamers to make good art.

This book, designed by renowned graphic artist Chip Kidd, contains the full text of Gaiman’s inspiring speech. Whether bestowed upon a young artist beginning his or her creative journey, or given as a token of gratitude to an admired mentor, or acquired as a gift to oneself, this volume is a fitting offering for anyone who strives to make good art.

To Kill A Mockingbird

Last book I've read...

To Kill a Mockingbird (1960)
Author: Harper Lee
Rating: 3/5

“It’s never an insult to be called what somebody thinks is a bad name. It just shows you how poor that person is, it doesn’t hurt you.”
― Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird

I got bored reading this book, but it definitely contains a lot of wisdom about people, and it even got me teary eyed at the latter part.

Book Description:
The unforgettable novel of a childhood in a sleepy Southern town and the crisis of conscience that rocked it. To Kill A Mockingbird became both an instant bestseller and a critical success when it was first published in 1960. It went on to win the Pulitzer Prize in 1961 and was later made into an Academy Award-winning film, also a classic.

Compassionate, dramatic, and deeply moving, To Kill A Mockingbird takes readers to the roots of human behavior—to innocence and experience, kindness and cruelty, love and hatred, humor and pathos. Now with over 18 million copies in print and translated into forty languages, this regional story, by a young Alabama woman, claims universal appeal. Harper Lee always considered her book to be a simple love story. Today it is regarded as a masterpiece of American literature.

Requiem

Last book I've read...

Requiem (2013)
Author: Lauren Oliver
Rating: 5/5

“There are some losses we never get over.”
― Lauren Oliver, Requiem

It's official. In a trilogy, the second book is by far interesting compared to its first and third book. It's exactly how it goes with Requiem which fell short compared to Pandemonium, but the impact is almost the same with Delirium. Nonetheless, I enjoyed reading it, and I'm still full of praise with Lauren Oliver for her impressive imagination. I like the ending of this trilogy, even though they are quiet a few who doesn't, but I think it just fits the whole theme of the story. Good stuff.

Book Description:
They have tried to squeeze us out, to stamp us into the past.

But we are still here.

And there are more of us every day.

Now an active member of the resistance, Lena has been transformed. The nascent rebellion that was under way in Pandemonium has ignited into an all-out revolution in Requiem, and Lena is at the center of the fight.

After rescuing Julian from a death sentence, Lena and her friends fled to the Wilds. But the Wilds are no longer a safe haven—pockets of rebellion have opened throughout the country, and the government cannot deny the existence of Invalids. Regulators now infiltrate the borderlands to stamp out the rebels, and as Lena navigates the increasingly dangerous terrain, her best friend, Hana, lives a safe, loveless life in Portland as the fiancée of the young mayor.

Maybe we are driven crazy by our feelings.

Maybe love is a disease, and we would be better off without it.

But we have chosen a different road.

And in the end, that is the point of escaping the cure: We are free to choose.

We are even free to choose the wrong thing.

Requiem is told from both Lena’s and Hana’s points of view. The two girls live side by side in a world that divides them until, at last, their stories converge.
